I believe that we are all one book away from figuring out something special. Many of the people who need to read, don't read. I write for them, in the hope that getting to point will help them feel more confident in their reading comprehension.
Maybe, just maybe, the books I write will be the reason they bet on themselves and achieve something great. That's my hope.
Education is a force multiplier and I believe that I have a duty to help at least one person learn something they wouldn't have known had I not been on this Earth.
Our lives should matter more than for frivolous reasons. We should mean something to somebody and we should do something for somebody.
Being a writer is one of the most difficult things ever, but I know my purpose is beyond making a quick buck or being famous.
Some people, when they read, the words take them to another place. That's the type of writer I will always aspire to be. I could never be discouraged because there is always room for improvement.
On top of focusing on being a better writer, my goal is to actually help people who feel there is no hope. I could never be as discouraged as those who have real-world issues.
No matter what, I'll be fine. I would rather turn my focus to helping those who are misfortunate and uninformed.
Honestly, I don't know if I am different or similar to any other writers. I don't know how the metrics are made - that's above my paygrade.
All I know is I love my family, sarcasm, ice cream, and helping people ... yes, in that order.
So if it's a choice between helping someone or eating an ice cream cone, I might get the ice cream cone on the way to helping someone. I don't think that's bad. Lol.
Born in Albany, Georgia, Marcus T. Bentley is the son of a pastor and educator. He has a beautiful, loving, and supportive wife, Crystal, who has been his rock and unwavering motivation. He has two beautiful children, Alexander and Arianna.
From an early age, Bentley has always been a writer (his parents commonly saw books, poems, songs, and small plays all around the house). He always focused on impacting the lives of the people he met, no matter their status.
Early in life, Bentley heavily pursued a career in music while working as a server and bartender. Some of his music is available on Cdbaby Amazon and other platforms.
At the age of 25, Bentley worked as a kitchen manager at a popular chain restaurant for several years. He used his leadership skills to inspire others to perform at their best and always keep a laugh in their lungs. He was and is still well-known by his friends and family for having a fresh piece of sarcasm ready at all times.
At the age of 29, Bentley enlisted in the United States Army. As a highly decorated Human Resources Sergeant, he helped multiple Soldiers enroll in school and pursue their personal and professional goals.
Currently, Bentley serves as a Drill Sergeant in the United States Army, assisting brand new recruits in increasing their ASVAB scores and increasing their levels of physical endurance.
Bentley believes that even with hard work, without knowledge, many will never reach their true potential. The primary aim of all his books is to help as many people as he can, not impress anyone.
If more failures gave speeches, there would be fewer failures.
Because he has failed numerous times, he made a pact with himself to always tell THE SHORT VERSION, so people don't have to figure it out the hard way or read the long version.
Read and Succeed.
